Aluminum 1100 is a commercially pure aluminum. 1100 has excellent welding characteristics; it is also soft and ductile so is ideal for applications that require intricate forming as it work hardens slower than other alloys. 1100 is however non-heat treatable. As 1100 has excellent resistance to corrosion it is widely used in the chemical and food processing industries also for giftware and applications where eye appeal is important.

Aluminum 1200 is a very good atmospheric corrosion resistance and workability. Aluminum 1200 has a high thermal conductivity and reflectivity but lower than for 1050A, very good weldability which is slightly higher strength than 1050A.

Aluminum Alloy 2618A (Aluminum 2618) is a high strength Aluminum alloy which contains both copper and magnesium. Alloy 2618 (2618A) has good machinability and is fair resistance to atmospheric attack. Aluminum Alloy 2618A (Aluminum 2618) is typically used in aerospace and defence components. It is commonly used for pistons and rotating aircraft parts due to it's ability to work in higher temperature applications. 2618 is also used in high performance autosport applications.

Aluminum 5052 is one of the higher strength non-heat treatable alloys (Annealed it is stronger than 1100 and 3003). Alloy 5052 has excellent characteristics with a high fatigue strength it is used for structures which are subject to excessive vibrations. As 5052 also has excellent corrosion resistance, especially in marine atmospheres and is therefore commonly used in boats, marine components, fuel and oil tubing.

Aluminum Alloy 5056 primary constituent is magnesium which gives this non heat treatable alloy its high strength. Due to Alloy 5056 high strength and excellent formability it is used extensively in cold heading applications as well as wire forms and hinge pins. Alloy 5056 also has excellent corrosion resistance and can be used in atmospheres such as salt water where corrosion would normally be a problem with other metals.

Aluminum 6053 is very similar to its counterpart 6061. Aluminum 6061 is an extremely versatile heat treatable aluminum alloy due to its content of silicon and magnesium. Alloy 6053 has lower levels of Iron which gives alloy 6053 more formability than 6061 with slightly less strength. Alloy 6053 uses include solid and tubular rivets.

Aluminum alloy 7050 is an aerospace grade of Aluminum combining high strength, stress corrosion cracking resistance and toughness. It is particularly suited for heavy plate applications (3" to 6" thick) due to it's lower quench sensitivity and retention of strength in thicker sections. Aluminum 7050 therefore is the premium choice aerospace Aluminum for applications such as fuselage frames, bulkheads and wing skins.

Aluminum 7050 plate is available in two tempers. T7651 (AMS 4201) combines the highest strength with good exfoliation corrosion resistance and average SCC resistance. T7451 (AMS 4050) provides better SCC resistance and excellent exfoliation resistance at slightly lower strength levels. Aircraft Materials can also supply 7050 in round bar with temper T74511 (AMS 4342).

Aluminum Alloy 7075 offers the highest strength of the common screw machine alloys. The superior stress corrosion resistance of the T173 and T7351 tempers makes alloy 7075 a logical replacement for 20242014 and 2017 in many of the most critical applications. The T6 and T651 tempers have fair machinability. Alloy 7075 is heavily utilized by the aircraft and ordnance industries because of its superior strength.
